Chimp Haven to Host Annual Spring Fling Saturday, April 16

Experience one of Louisiana's hidden treasures this Saturday at Chimp Haven.

This Saturday Chimp Haven in Keithville is hosting their annual Spring Fling. It's just like a traditional Chimpanzee Discovery Day, but with more pizzazz. It's sure to be a fun-filled event for the entire family, with activities for young and old alike.

You kids can participate in the Chimp Olympics with plenty of field day games where everyone wins a prize. See the chimpanzee's artwork that will be on display in the outdoor gallery setting. You will be able to purchase raffle tickets as select pieces of art will be raffled off. You and your family will also be able to take a guided trail walk throughout the site. Members of Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park will be on hand to lead the tours through the nature trail. You'll learn about various plants and animals that are living in the area.

And of course, the chimps.

You'll have the opportunity to see more than 40 chimpanzees in their sanctuary setting. Take a behind-the-scenes tour and learn more about Chimp Haven from one of the staff members.

Gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults (ages 13+), $5 for kids ages 6-12, and children ages 5 and under will receive free admission. Learn more at chimphaven.org or call 318-925-9575.
