Chesapeake Energy Giving Millions in Tax Payments to Our Region

Our region is getting some big bucks from Chesapeake Energy. The company is handing out a total of nearly $14-million in property tax payments to parishes benefitting from natural gas and oil development. Chesapeake representatives will start making presentations at area Police Jury meetings to formally announce the individual parish totals. Tax payments will be divided according to current millages for parish schools, law enforcement, police juries and other taxing authorities in each parish. Here are those numbers:

• Bienville Parish $377,771.64

• Bossier Parish $1,029,716.21

• Caddo Parish $4,418,192.35

• DeSoto Parish $6,614,801.14

• Natchitoches Parish $80,891.15

• Red River Parish $397,652.89

• Sabine Parish $1,038,127.08

• Webster Parish $7,311.60
