UPDATE: East Texas Street Re-Opened Following Chemical Spill

Both east- and westbound lanes of East Texas Street are now re-opened.  The chemical spill is all cleared up.

The 4400 block of East Texas street in Bossier City is closed from Pearl Drive to Industrial Drive because of a hazardous materials spill. City spokesman Mark Natale says a tanker truck carrying a load of sulfuric acid spilled part of its load onto the roadway. Fire department personnel have neutralized some of the acid, and are waiting for a private contractor hired by the trucking firm to finish the work. The road will be shut down until that's finished.
