A woman who works part-time for the YMCA in the Swim for Life program was trying to pull into the first handicapped spot near the front of the building and her foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas.

Her car stopped just inside the man lobby next to the gym and the coffee bar area.

The car did bump into one of the tables in the front lobby, but no one was sitting at the table at the time.

Joe Mann tells us he was just finishing his workout when he heard the loud crash. He says this happened at about 9:15 this morning. He says "usually around nine or 930 there are people sitting in the chairs along the windows, drinking coffee. But there were no people in the chairs at the moment she crashed into the building.

A massage table is also in the lobby at that window, but no one was getting a massage at the time.

The window will boarded up and the YMCA will remain open. A glass company is expected to come in the next day or two to get the repairs made.

Executive Director of the YMCA Gary Lash tells KEEL News this was a freak accident and he is very glad no one was hurt. He's thankful for all of the members and staff who stepped in to help the woman and make sure everyone was safe.
