MLB Network to Visit Caddo's Youth Baseball Clinic

SHREVEPORT, LA

Exciting news for Caddo Parish youth sports as Caddo Parks & Recreation announces that the Major League Baseball Network is planning to visit Caddo Parish for the Revitalizing Baseball in Inner Cities Program’s Youth Baseball Skills and Drills Clinic, April 5th at Captain Shreve High School.

Captain Shreve has joined forces with Caddo Parish Parks & Recreation, along with Raising Canes for this free clinic for boys and girls ages 4-14. The clinic will focus on the fundamental skills of not only baseball, but also T-Ball and softball, in a fun environment.

The clinic will feature several special guest-instructors, including Todd Sharp, Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director at Captain Shreve High School, as well as several local area college and high-school baseball and softball coaches. Organizers plan to announce former Major League Baseball players expected to be present as well, at a later date.

“Caddo Parish Parks Department staff and our partners were so excited when they got the news that the Major League Baseball Network will be in Caddo Parish to spotlight our NIKE RBI Youth Baseball Program,” said Caddo Parish parks and recreation director Patrick Wesley. “We are proud to have been in partnership with NIKE RBI since 2020, and this coverage will surely put Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation as well as our youth baseball development efforts on a national and international level,” said Wesley.

The clinic is free, but registration will be required for attendance. Registration will be open until all available spots are filled, and can be found at caddoparks.org. Registration will also be scheduled for the day of the event if all available slots aren’t filled beginning at 8A on April 5th.

Caddo Parks & Recreation also announced that in addition to the clinic, the Major League Baseball Network will be filming a national spotlight segment on the parish’s new baseball development field, P.B.S. Pinchback Park located at 7903 Jefferson-Paige Road.
