Over the weekend, Shreveport Police were called to Normandie Drive regarding a disorderly person inside of a residence.

When Police got to the scene, they were met with a woman who told them that she found a 23 year-old man, later identified as Skylard Tiner, laying on the floor in her house. The woman told SPD that the man was there to see her 16 year-old daughter and that she hit him after he revealed that information.

While Police were investigating, SPD learned that Tiner and the 16 year-old had been communicating via Instagram. The girl's mother provided the messages to Officers, where they could see that the girl had informed Tiner that she was only 16 and a junior in high school and telling him "You're too grown for me." Even though it was clear thet Tiner knew her age, he continued the conversation making inappropriate and sexual remarks.

From SPD:

"Tiner was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail before being transferred to Caddo Correctional Center. He is charged with Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to protecting children in our community and encourages parents to closely monitor their child’s online interactions."

Another was arrested after being on the lam for sexual assault of a juvenile.

Shreveport Police have arrested a man wanted for Sexual Battery involving a victim under the age of 13.

SPD Detectives were alerted to the sexual battery case when a victim came forward. After a forensic interview at the Gingerbread House Children's Advocacy Center. In that interview, the victim gave counselors details of the sexual assault and named Dewayne Kirkendoll Jr. as the perpetrator.

There was enough evidence to get an arrest warrant for Kirkendoll back in July for, Sexual Battery involving a victim under the age of 13.

After a months-long search SPD Detectives were finally able to catch-up with Kirkendoll. He was arrested and charged before being taken to the Shreveport City Jail.

Shreveport Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help with this case.
