In the aftermath of weekend rains, some area residents have decided that it's OK to resume outdoor burning. But State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says it's not -- and the burn ban that he and Ag Commissioner Mike Strain issued last month remains in effect. Browning says it will take a significant amount of rainfall spread out over several days before the burn ban can be lifted. And he doesn't forsee that coming any time soon. The burn ban applies to thirty north Louisiana parishes. Since it went into effect August 24th, Browning says the number of reported wildfires has been cut in half.
