Buncombe Road Closed as Shreveport Tackles Major Sewer Repairs
Shreveport is dealing with more infrastructure woes this week. Repairs are being made to a 42-inch sewer main located near the 6900 block of Buncombe Road close to 70th Street today.
The repairs are necessary to prevent further damage and service disruptions.
This work is part of the Department’s operational maintenance program. The City is
utilizing its On-Demand contract to facilitate the repairs.
How Will this Impact Southwest Shreveport?
City leaders remind residents and motorists that the affected section of Buncombe Road will be closed much of the week with heavy equipment, trucks, and pumps mobilized onsite. The estimated repair time could be up to seven days, depending on what crews find once the sewer main is exposed.
Interim Water and Sewer Director Brandon Snead says “We appreciate the public’s patience while we conduct these critical repairs. Our crews will work quickly as
they can to ensure the continued reliability of Shreveport’s sewer system.”
Residents are encouraged to follow posted detours and plan alternate routes as needed.
Updates will be provided through the City of Shreveport Department of Water &
Sewerage’s social media channels and official website.
