Bossier City detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman in north Bossier from early this morning. It happened on I-220 near the Airline Drive exit.

KEEL News has learned that several shots were fired at the woman's car and she died from her wounds. At this time, few other details have been released about the crime, and detectives are searching for video from businesses near the scene where the victim's car was eventually found.

Here is a statement released by Bossier Police:

At 4:20 a.m. the Bossier City Police and Fire Departments responded to a vehicle crash on I-220 eastbound just west of the Airline Drive exit. Upon arrival, first responders located an unresponsive subject inside a  vehicle with apparent gun shot wounds. That subject was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are currently investigating the incident as a homicide. I-220 eastbound between Benton Road and Airline Drive is closed.
