Bossier Woman Arrested After 3 Dogs Die in Hot Car
Bossier City police responded to reports of dogs locked in a hot car in the parking lot of Willis Knighton - Bossier on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately, that situation was deadly for the 3 animals locked in the car that belonged to 47 year old Nancy Louise Western of Shreveport.
During questioning, BCPD were told by Western that she left the dogs (2 Labrador Retrievers and a Cocker Spaniel) inside her car as she went to a doctors appointment - and they were inside the vehicle with no air conditioning or cracked windows for approximately an hour. According to KTBS, investigators would ultimately disagree with this assessment due to the amount of rigor mortis the deceased dogs displayed - this muscle-stiffening phenomenon usually occurs 2-6 hours after death.
Bossier City Animal Control removed the animals, and Nancy was booked into Bossier City Jail. She is Currently being held in the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
