Cassie Mae Rogers, a member of the Bossier Term Limits Coalition, filed a petition in court claiming the city council is not following its charter on what happens with election petitions. Term limit supporters say this legal battle can be avoided if the council will act and send this to the voters.

Bossier Watch put this statement out about this issue:

It is unfortunate that the Good Ole' Boys of David Montgomery - Bossier City Councilman At-Large, Bubba Don, Darby, Jeff Free, and Vince Maggio try desperately to cling to power while burning up OPM (other peoples money) aka our tax dollars. FOLLOW THE LAW.

ONLY Bossier City Councilman Chris Smith and Brian Hammons Bossier City Councilman - District 1 and Tommy Chandler Bossier City Mayor want to follow the charter (law) and support Term Limits. Kudos to them.

Bossier Watch adds:

It is our hope that the City of Bossier City and the City Councilmen will simply do as their City Charter requires rather than going against the will of the taxpayers and costing more time and taxpayer dollars.
