Bossier Police Prepare to Activate Armed Robbery Task Force
Careful -- there just might be a cop in that cooler! That's the message the Bossier City Police Department wants to send to would-be robbers. The department activates its annual Armed Robbery Task Force this Friday with anywhere from five to ten officers at any given time watching for criminal activity -- particularly armed robberies. Sgt. Bart Cavanaugh says officers will be on the streets and in the stores -- maybe even hiding out in a cooler. Some will be in uniform -- some will be in plain clothes. In short, you never know where you might encounter an officer -- or a sheriff's deputy, for that matter -- because the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office will also activate its armed robbery task force this Friday.
