Shreveport TV News Anchor Being Investigated BY SPD
SHREVEPORT, LA – A local TV news man is being investigated by Shreveport Police for his alleged attempt to meet up with an underaged girl. KEEL News got wind of the story on Monday and checked in with SPD to find out if the TV anchorman has been arrested. We have been told Bill Lunn, who was the News Director at KTBS has not been charged with a crime “yet”. But we do know he has resigned his job from the television station.
KTAL News has obtained more information about this bizarre case. The report claims Lunn was targeted by a group of men who go after child predators online. Antonio Coleman tells KTAL “What we do is like we catch child predators.”
What Allegedly Happened in This Case?
Coleman and his cousin, Kameron Kennon and a friend, Kataurio Grigsby shared information with KTAL about the events that have happened on May 29 involving Lunn. For the past few weeks, these men have pretended to be an underage girl online in an effort to lure men to try to meet up with the teenage girl.
An SPD spokesman tells KEEL News Bill Lunn actually called police last Wednesday to report he was the victim of a physical assault. But that’s when police learned about the private sting effort by the three men. The offense report obtained by KTAL says this is now a case of “computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes.”
Bill Lunn is known around the community for his Bill's Bikes. He fixes up old bicycles and gives them to children in need.
Has the TV Newsman Been Arrested?
The answer to that is “no” at this point. KEEL News has learned police have seized all of Bill Lunn’s electronic devices and are attempting to verify that he knew the “girl” he was communicating with was under age. So far, police have not yet been able to verify that claim.
But Coleman says it is clear. He tells KTAL Lunn initiated a conversation with the “girl” online and she clearly told him she was 15. Coleman acted as that girl. He claims to have sent Lunn dozens of text messages which turned to talk about sex early on during that conversation. Coleman tells KTAL the text messages got very explicit. NBC 6 News has also been shown some of the text messages which allegedly contain messages “sent by Lunn displaying sexually explicit photos of himself.”
The report says on May 29, Lunn allegedly came to meet the girl, but that’s when the 3 men jumped him and let him know what was really going on. KEEL News has learned Lunn resigned as News Director of KTBS on Monday.
