President Joe Biden arrived in Louisiana today touting his $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan. With the Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, a city still recovering from two major hurricanes, the President reminded Americans that America's infrastructure now ranks 8th in the world. America used to be on top, but not anymore.

The I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge was built to last 50 years with a workload of 37,000 vehicle crossings per day. The bridge is now 70 years old and over 80,000 vehicles cross it per day. During its last inspection, the bridge received a D+ safety rating. President Biden said during the Lake Charles press conference, "...it's one of 45,000 bridges in the US that are structurally deficient."

President Biden wants a safer more updated bridge built. One with six lanes, better exits and able to withstand the strongest hurricanes and storm surges.

Upon the President's arrival in Louisiana, the President was greeted by Governor John Bel Edwards and the Governor's daughter Sarah Ellen. The three spoke briefly prior to the press conference in Lake Charles and even compared pocket rosaries.

Approximately 30 seconds into the video, President Joe Biden and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards show each other their pocket rosaries.

While in the state, the President also visited New Orleans to pitch the idea of 16 million new jobs for America. Alongside New Orleans Mayor Cantrell and Senator Bill Cassidy, after a short chat on the tarmac at the new Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, President Biden, Cassidy and Cantrell toured the outdated Carrollton Water Plant in New Orleans.
