US News And World Report ranked all of the diets to find out which ones work the best. And one of the plans was actually developed right here in Louisiana.

This ‘Best Diets Report’ updates the rating evaluation system to reflect the diverse needs and goals of individuals, considering factors beyond weight loss,” managing editor of health at U.S. News Gretel Schueller said. “U.S. News aims to provide consumers with a more personalized experience as they consider their health priorities and eating goals.”

What Louisiana Diet Makes This Prestigious List?

It’s called the DASH Diet. That stands for “Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension”. It was by scientists from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge. It’s ranked as the #2 died and the top heart healthy diet.

The annual rankings evaluate 38 diets across 21 categories, helping guide healthy eating resolutions. Women’s Nutrition Research Coordinator Dr. Catherine Champagne says celebrated for combating high blood pressure.
