About Me
My husband transferred to GM here in Shreveport from the Decatur/Huntsville area of North Alabama, home of the beautiful Tennessee River. He retired from GM and is now attending Police Academy in Kilgore, Texas. Our children are growing like weeds, two daughters, Casey is 19, and an education student at Panola College. Jill, is 16 and plays softball for Carthage High Junior Varsity. Our son, Shane, is 14 and plays football and runs track for Carthage Junior High. I was a deejay for 11 years on a morning show in Alabama at WDRM Country 102, but my first full-time job was working for Jerry Falwell's radio station in Lynchburg, Va. I graduated from Liberty University in 1983. I got to hear President Ronald Reagan speak on campus. I also heard Sen. Ted Kennedy speak. Moral Majority accidentally sent Ted Kennedy a membership card, and Kennedy accepted an invitation to visit us. I'd like to meet Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. I saw McCartney in Dallas before the divorce from Heather Mills, and I've seen Clapton four times. But, it doesn't get any better than a George Jones concert. When I met the Possum back stage as a deejay at a concert in Alabama, Jones says, "Got that red hair." When I introduced him to my husband, he says, "Got that tall husband." However, the greatest things in life: my daughter's first 3-pointer in basketball; my son's first tackle in football, and the day my youngest daughter put all her coins in my purse because she thought I didn't have any money. She was right - I didn't!Elaine Etheridge
