Another Louisiana West Nile Virus Death Confirmed

State health officials have confirmed Louisiana's third West Nile virus death this year.  

It was somebody in Rapides Parish -- the second West Nile death in that parish this year. The Department of Health and Hospitals has also confirmed three new West Nile virus cases this year -- all three of them were the most serious neuroinvasive disease.  Two of those cases were in Lafayette Parish and the other in Ouachita.
