Is Buc-ee’s Planning to Open a Second Store in Louisiana?
SHREVEPORT, LA - We recently got an update on the plan for a Buc-ee's in Ruston. Mayor Ronny Walker tells KEEL News DOTD is working to get the roads off of I-20 ready for the Buc-ee's operation and then it will be full steam ahead.
Could A 2nd Louisiana Store Be in the Works?
Now there is a report that the monster rest stop and gas station is taking a close look at another spot in Louisiana for a Buc-ee's. KADN is reporting "Buc-ee’s is actively evaluating the prospect of opening a second location in Louisiana."
Where Would This Buc-ee's Be?
The report on KADN cites sources claiming Buc-ee’s is looking at some land in Lafayette, off of Louisiana Avenue near I-10. This report also says other locations are also being scouted, but the Louisiana Avenue cite is the top pick.
The planned Buc-ee’s travel center is set to open in Ruston in just over a year. Lincoln Parish leaders and the city of Ruston approved a tax incentive package to get this process moving. The Ruston Buc-ee's will be about 53,000 square feet and have 120 gas pumps.
Mayor Walker tells KEEL News Buc-ee's is actually buying more land than they need because they believe this will spur more economic development in the area.
The Texas-based company has over 40 stores in seven southern states.
