A Sleeping Bossier Man Arrested For Drugs In Shreveport
Don't sleep on the Caddo Parish Sheriffs. A welfare check was being done on a man sleeping in his car, and the smell of marijuana led to a drug bust.
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office released this statement on the bust:
"A Bossier man was arrested for drug possession on Saturday after Caddo deputies found him asleep in his vehicle on a restaurant parking lot, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Caddo Deputy Alvin Slay was contacted about the suspicious man who had reportedly been asleep in his running vehicle for over two hours. Slay and K-9 Deputy Bryant Mendolia responded to the 9400 block of Mansfield Road to check on the man’s welfare. Inside the car, they saw and smelled marijuana.
A search of the vehicle turned up a large quantity of suspected marijuana in the console, a jar of marijuana on the backseat, and two jars of marijuana in the trunk, a total of 238 grams. Deputies also recovered 11 Xanax pills and a stolen handgun.
Alford T. Harris, 33, of the 3200 block of Tammy Lane in Bossier City, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for possession of schedule I with intent to distribute, possession of schedule IV, possession of a stolen firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm."
