Texas Game Wardens are not playing around when it comes to seafood in East Texas.

According to TylerPaper.com, five of the citations were written at Tyler businesses, and three were to citizens selling seafood individually.

A recent two-day inspection operation yielded a total of 60 citations at about 50 establishments. Warnings were handed out to 12 seafood restaurants, fish markets and wholesale commercial fish dealers in Tyler, Quitman and Longview.

It seems that most of the violations were related to paperwork or documentation. Locations in Tyler cited included Kabayan Asian Food Mart, two Super Mercado locations, Import Emporium and Country Meat Market.

A couple of private Tyler residences were also cited for not having fish dealer licenses. In Longview, Fisherman's Market was given a citation for having oysters in an undocumented container. East Young Seafood was also given a warning for not having a nongame sales permit, according to the Tyler Paper.
