12 Kids Have Disappeared In Louisiana Since August 1st, 2022

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is not a police organization. They're not actually law enforcement in any way. They're a private 501(c)(3) charity organization that helps to find children that have been reported missing. Sadly, its something needed in our society.

With so much on the plate of law enforcement investigators, there are some things that don't get the full attention many believe they deserve; something like missing children. So an organization like The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children helps to fill in those gaps. Here's what the organization says about their work:

"The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC works with families, victims, private industry, law enforcement, and the public to assist with preventing child abductions, recovering missing children, and providing services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation."

In Louisiana, there's an obvious need. Since August 1st of 2022, there have been a dozen kids reported missing in the state. That feels like a very high number for something as serious as a child being reported as missing.

These kids have been reported from many corners of the state, including New Orleans, Lafayette, Ruston, Monroe, and Lake Charles. Just because they have been reported missing in one of these cities, it doesn't mean that's where they are currently. Many could be in the Shreveport or Bossier City area.
