The Shreveport Police Department’s annual Youth Fishing Camp is slated for Saturday, May 12, 2012. The event will be held at the department’s Cross Lake Patrol Headquarters located in the 2900 block of Municipal Pier Road on beautiful Cross Lake and will run from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  The camp is an exciting, fun, and educational day for kids ages six to 12.

The children will not only get to fish (and hopefully catch a few!), but will also learn about floatation devices and boating safety, skin cancer prevention, and the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.

Lunch will be provided.  Any parent interested in sending their children to the fishing camp should call the Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau at 318-673-6950 for more information.  There are a limited number of slots available so call and sign your kids up today!
