Yes, we've still got a few weeks left of summer, but the fall is just around the corner. And with the fall, (my favorite time of the year) comes not only the cooler temps, but festivals and fairs.

Before you know it we'll be enjoying lunch at the Red River Revel, looking for those famous foot-long corn dogs and Wisconsin Cheese at the State Fair of Louisiana, and just down I-20, discovering some amazing new treats at the State Fair of Texas.

And in preparation for the Texas State Fair, coming up September 27th- October 20th, they have announced the State Fair of Texas Food Finalists that you don't want to miss.

From hand-rolled corn tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken and deep fried, to brisket wrapped with shredded potatoes, bacon and cheese... oh yeah... let's deep fry that too!

And don't forget the sweet treats as well. How about cotton candy with bacon, or a new twist on PopTarts blended with New Orleans beignets, or you might want to try a cotton candy flavored pickle coated in Lucky Charms, Froot Loops, and Cap'n Crunch, then layered in cotton candy sugar crystals and powdered sugar, before being drizzled with strawberry syrup... then add a helping of vanilla ice cream!
