Woman Arrested by Shreveport Police for Domestic Strangulation
Early this month SPD got a late night call to Creswell Avenue to a report of domestic battery.
The woman called and told Police that her ex-girlfriend had hit her in the face with a cell phone leaving a visible injury.
The woman went on to tell SPD after they showed up that her ex had also strangled her to the point that she couldn't breathe. Shreveport Police started an investigation, and the evidence was enough to get a warrant.
SPD Detectives put a warrant out for April Smith on charges of Battery of a Dating Partner with Strangulation. Last week Police were able to catch up to Smith and arrested her on that charge.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to addressing domestic violence and encourages victims to seek help by contacting local resources or law enforcement."
