HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Like mask-wearing, shutdowns and every other issue in the coronavirus pandemic, vaccine passports are now a hot political issue. As more people get vaccines, governments are trying to find ways for those who have their shots prove it by flashing a code or an app. That — and a ticket — would let people travel or attend concerts or sporting events. Right now, vaccine passports are available only in one state, New York. But other governments want to block their creation and use. Republicans denounce vaccine passports as heavy-handed government intrusion into personal freedom and private health issues.
