Will Ferrell and Chad Smith Battle for World’s Greatest Drummer Title

Drums are different. It's that combination of finesse, coordination, musicality, rhythm, strength and athleticism that makes drummers special. There is no other better evidence than the following drum-off between the legendary Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and actor, comedian and musician Will Ferrell battle for supremacy.

You might remember when drumming greats Buddy Rich and Louie Bellson would battle in epic drum battles on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. Buddy also battled Tonight Show Band drummer Ed Shaughnessy a number of times, as well as Rush's Neal Peart who created a tribute video to his friend Buddy Rich.

Okay, it's the era of lower expectations, but still when the idea of Will Ferrell and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers fighting for the title of "world's greatest drummer," the excitement was overwhelming.
