Shreveport Police Investigating West Shreveport Homicide
An investigation is underway into the overnight shooting death of a man in west Shreveport.
On August 16, 2024, just before 9:30 p.m., Shreveport Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Boone Street.
Troy Ducote, 35, was shot following some type of altercation in his house in the 3000 block of Boone Street, in the Werner Park neighborhood. He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:04 p.m.
Mr. Ducote was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.
Shreveport police continue to investigate the slaying, the 39th homicide inside the city limits to date in 2024 and the 42nd such death in Caddo Parish in that time.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units responded to the scene and launched their investigation. A neighborhood canvass was conducted, and all items of evidentiary value collected. Investigators learned that the victim and several juveniles were involved in a dispute prior to the shooting. No further information is available at this time.
