The R.W. Norton Art Gallery was ready to celebrate the holiday season with the flavor of everyone's favorite School of Witchcraft this season, until the Death Eat...er...um...lawyers, came calling.

The Norton Art Gallery had more than a thousand people interested in their Yule Ball: A Dinner Experience Facebook event, which was set to take place on Friday, December 21st at the Gallery on Creswell Ave in Shreveport. The event was described as:

"Feel like fa-la-la-ing at Hogwarts? Join us for another Harry Potter Dinner Experience, this time celebrating the Yule Ball commemorated in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Prepare your wizard robes and other appropriate attire for Friday, December 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Once you’ve been sorted into the appropriate house (are you brave Gryffindor, witty Ravenclaw, patient Hufflepuff, or cunning Slytherin?), you’ll be served a four-course traditional English Yuletide Feast, courtesy of Chefs Blake Jackson and Jacob Mouser. And, of course, there’ll be magical challenges to take on between each course. Tickets are $65 per person and since, as Minerva McGonagall explained, “The Yule Ball is, of course, a chance for us all to – er - let our hair down”, seats are reserved for those 21 and over. We hope to see you at the Norton for a Holiday at Hogwarts!"

However, at some point yesterday, lawyers from Warner Brothers issued a cease and desist to The Norton (no word on who the golden snitch was). Something that the Gallery seemed to take in stride, based on their social media reaction, as this (Dumble)door was closed:

After word of the event's (Azaka)ban was posted, fans across social media reacted showing the Norton an outpouring of love(good) to the gallery, while sharing sadness over the event's cancellation. Some have offered suggestions of other events that could replace the Yule Ball, but there's no word yet on if a new event will Slytherin to our calendars to replace the event. Hopefully we won't have to wait long(bottom) to find out.
