Verdicts have been returned in two Caddo Parish murder cases. One jury deliberated about thirty minutes before finding Tarsa Ray Cooley guilty of second-degree murder for the June, 2008, shooting death of Matthew Robert during a robbery attempt at a south Shreveport pawn shop. It took another jury about an hour-and-a-half to convict Jeremy Jermaine Brooks of second degree murder for his part in the April, 2009, shooting death of Terrell Savore in the 1900 block of Patzman. He'll be back in court August 17th for sentencing. No sentencing date has been set for Cooley. Second-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
