Two Theft Suspects Arrested for Stealing from Shreveport Lowe’s
The Lowe's on Alkay Drive is not playing around with thieves anymore.
Seems like this year, several people have been issued warrants and arrested for stealing from Lowe's. Lowe's has had a big theft problem for a long time, as power tools can usually be sold without too many questions being asked.
SPD has been going back to December of last year, checking the cameras for the hardware store and catching folks left-and-right.
Detectives identified one such thief as Donald Brown. Brown could be seen on camera stealing over $1,000 worth of items making it a felony. Brown also has a lengthy history with theft with 43 prior arrests for theft with 9 convictions.
SPD caught up with Brown, and arrested him for felony theft.
Police also identified Kenneth McDonald as a person who stole from the same Lowe's in December 2024. McDonald was caught on security cameras stealing items from Lowe's with his girlfriend Sharla Drerup.
McDonald also has priors for theft. 9 arrests and 2 convictions. McDonald was arrested last week on theft charges, and his girlfriend was issued a summons for being involved.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department is sending a clear message: If you steal from our stores, our community, or our residents, you will be held accountable. The SPD remains committed to cracking down on retail theft and protecting our businesses and citizens."
