NEW DETAILS:

Shreveport detectives have charged a man arrested last night for an attempted armed robbery in connection with another robbery and have apprehended a second suspect as well.

This evening investigators charged 23 year old Christopher Bell with two counts of armed robbery for his part in the reported robbery of two victims that occurred last December. Detectives believe Bell, who was arrested last night for attempting to rob a nail salon in west Shreveport, robbed two employees at Ultimate Nails in the 8900 block of Mansfield Road back on December 2, 2010. In that robbery, the victims reported two male suspects entered the business and robbed them at gunpoint.

Detectives developed Bell as a suspect and, as their investigation moved forward, were able to identify the other suspect as 25 year Antonio Chevalier. Chevalier, of the 600 block of Damaka Drive in Shreveport, was arrested by detectives tonight and has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on two counts of armed robbery.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. last night, officers were dispatched to the Top Nails Salon in the 8200 block of Jewella Avenue relative to an armed robbery call.
