In case you haven't noticed yet, the portion of Traffic Street in Bossier City that has been under construction since February is now open! City Spokesman Mark Natale says workers opened the roadway over the weekend. The original intent when the project began was for one lane of traffic in each direction to remain open, but city engineers and the project contractor decided to shut down the area completely, which enabled them to finish the work about seven months ahead of schedule. Natale says the considerably wider roadway is expected to help alleviate traffic on I-20, and around the casinos and the Louisiana Boardwalk.
