Traffic Stop Leads to Gun and Drug Arrest for Shreveport Police
At around 2am last Friday Shreveport Police made a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The driver, now identified as Trevon Harrison, gave SPD a fake name during the traffic stop. Once Police found out his real name, they were able to find that Harrison had warrants out for his arrest.
Police detained Harrison, and during a search of his car, they found drugs and a loaded assault rifle. Police later confirmed that Harrison is a convicted felon, and is not allowed to have a gun.
Harrison was taken in to custody and is facing several charges, including his outstanding warrant, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and providing false information to law enforcement.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to proactively patrolling our neighborhoods and removing dangerous individuals and illegal weapons from our streets."
