Tornado Concerns Could Push Their Way Into Shreveport Tonight
Might be time to start watching the skies and the radar. Because there is a huge line of storms racing across Texas, and producing numerous Tornado Watches.
Currently, the National Weather Service has over 25 North and East Texas counties under Tornado Watches. These watches and warnings do extend north into Oklahoma as well. With some other storms associated with this system already firing up in Arkansas.
The National Weather Service in Shreveport has been monitoring the system for hours. They have been issuing Special Weather Statements for the East Texas region, and posted that the Shreveport and Bossier area are also at risk today:
Although Shreveport and Bossier are included, its under the "Marginal Risk" designation, which is the lowest on the scale. It essentially means that conditions will be right for storms, with isolated severe weather.
But in North Caddo Parish, there is an enhanced risk. Up to the second level of risk, "Slight Risk". The difference between the two is that under "Slight", the expectations of severe storms is increased.
