Third person in Landry Anglin Case Found Guilty

A third person involved in the 2022 slaying of Shreveport teen Landry Anglin is guilty in connection with her death.

Tramaine Taylor, 28, pleaded guilty as charged in Caddo District Court Thursday, September 19, 2024, to  illegal use of a weapon from a motor vehicle.

On May 1, 2022, Taylor drove a White Chrysler 300 on Fairfield Avenue behind a gold Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Gavontay Johnson, in which Kenmiccael Ray and his young daughter were passengers. Taylor’s car turned east onto Erie Street, following the Cavalier.  From the Cavalier, front-seat passenger Ray opened fire on the Chrysler.  Taylor and others in his car returned fire.

Forensic firearms analysis established that one of the bullets fired from Ray's gun killed 13-year old Landry Anglin. In June, the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office convicted Ray of second-degree murder, and he was sentenced to serve life in prison.

Pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement, Taylor was sentenced by District Judge Ramona Emanuel to serve 10 years in prison, the maximum sentence allowed under Louisiana law.
