Two Shreveport schools landed in the Top 10 in Louisiana on WalletHub's list of "2022’s College & University Rankings". Both outperforming some of the most well known colleges and universities in the state.

WalletHub puts together their annual list of top College & University Rankings across the entire country, and also details specific states and regions. Across the entire country, the state of Louisiana only landed one school in the Top 100. The highest ranking school didn't make Top 10, Top 25, or even Top 50. Louisiana's top school was Tulane, and they came in at 68th overall in the nation.

No other Louisiana school was able to crack the Top 250 nationwide. The second highest ranked Louisiana school on the national level was Louisiana Tech, who came in at 281 overall.

So how does WalletHub create their rankings?

Their research team consists of multiple Ph.D.s and college professors. A group that includes Elizabeth Gil Ph.D. – Graduate School of Education – Fordham University and Cecilia M. Orphan Ph.D. – Associate Professor, Higher Education, Morgridge College of Education; Director of Partnerships, Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges – University of Denver.

This group of experts are looking at a ton of data points as well. Here's how WalletHub measures the schools:

"To determine the top-performing schools at the lowest possible costs to undergraduates, WalletHub compared more than 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. across 30 key measures. The data set is grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The metrics range from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary."

They go into further details on what they are measuring with each school:

"In order to determine the best higher-education institutions in the U.S., WalletHub compared 1,015 colleges and universities across seven key dimensions: 1) Student Selectivity, 2) Cost & Financing, 3) Faculty Resources, 4) Campus Safety, 5) Campus Experience, 6) Educational Outcomes and 7) Career Outcomes.

We evaluated those dimensions using 30 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the best school performance and the most favorable conditions for undergraduate students during and after attendance."

So after the experts consider all of those pieces of data, here are the Top 14 Colleges & Universities In Louisiana For 2022:
