The final results are in on the color area residents chose for the Jimmie Davis Bridge, and purple came out ahead with 32 percent of the votes.

Total number of votes on the Pick the Paint campaign was 7,100. Blue came in second, with 25 percent, and red in third with 12 percent.

The paint will be the last thing done during the bridge rehabilitation project, which will cost between $15 and $20 million. Structural repairs will be completed first. Bids on the project go out this coming October.
