The Custom Egg That Disappeared From The Centaur Bal Is Back
Last week, as the confetti and dust was settling from the Krewe of Centaur Bal in Shreveport, we told you about a piece of handmade art that was missing. A custom made dragon egg that was part of a royalty table display had gone missing during the Bal.
That sparked Egggate 2024, as the owners of this custom piece started asking for help finding it.
Thanks to the help of listeners, readers, and social media followers, the egg was located. It had traveled all the way from Shreveport on Saturday night, back to the Dallas metroplex during the week. After the egg was located, it was offered back to the owners...but they had to come get it.
We actually spoke to the "Egg Mama" and got the story of the journey that the egg, now known as "Eggbert", took:
"(The egg) Was taken to Fort Worth. Brought back on Friday 1/26, where he was given to a Krewe member. (The egg) Went on an adventure, then safely made it back to me on Sat 1/27, where he rode the party bus and attended the Dionysos Bal in Natchitoches"
Not only did we get the description of the travels of "Eggbert", but we got pictures from the adventures...
Now that Eggbert is back home and resting, he's going to have a big weekend ahead of him. We've been told that Eggbert will appear at the Krewe of Centaur Float Loading on Friday night, and will be riding with Royalty in the Krewe of Centaur Parade on Saturday.
