Historically, going to college has been a goal for many in the United States. But over the last 20 years, there have been a lot of growing concerns about the value of college degrees.

A lot of the growing concerns over college comes from the student debt crisis. According to Business Insider, the student debt crisis has surged 144% over the last 10 years, with 45 million Americans owing $1.7 trillion in loans...loans that are unforgivable in any way, including bankruptcy.

Others will counter that colleges and universities are to blame, for jacking up their rates, and pushing kids into disciplines that do not offer strong career paths after graduation.

But no matter what the concerns around the cost of college are, or the quality of the degrees, statistics still show that people with college degrees make more money. Those individuals make more annually, and over their lifetime. Again, this is purely statistical, and isn't a rule.

So with there still being value to a college degree, at least statistically, many base their qualifications on how "educated" someone is on the possession of college degrees. Which is exactly what the site Stacker.com did when they ranked the education levels of Louisiana Parishes.

The way Stacker ranked the Parishes was by least educated, and not most educated. Here's what they did, and how they did it, according to their site:

"To help understand areas with the lowest educational attainment, Stacker compiled a list of the least educated parishes in Louisiana using data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Parishes are ranked by the lowest percent of the population 25 years and over that has a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Ties are broken by the highest percent with less than high school diploma."

So based on their research, here are Louisiana's 25 Least Educated Parishes:
