A Tennessee woman is convicted in Caddo District Court of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

According to court evidence, 29-year-old Annternette Lattin of Memphis broke into the apartment of her child's father in late November 2014 in attempt to take the child. The day before Thanksgiving, Lattin went to visit her son, but once she was holding him, she attempted to run away.

The father, James Leachman, reclaimed the child and went back into the house. Lattin, her sister and a man who was never located broke through the front door and starting fighting Leachman and his girlfriend, Miriam Ochoa. Ochoa escaped and called police, who arrested Lattin and her sister.

Leachman, Ochoa and the child suffered bruises and cuts and Leachman also had a black eye. Witnesses during the trial talked about Lattin's history of taking the child and leaving the state.

Lattin was found guilty a little more than half-an-hour after the seven-woman, five-man jury began deliberations. She'll return to court August 3 for further proceedings. She faces up to six years in prison.
