One major forecaster warns that Louisiana could face a hyperactive 2025 hurricane season, with warm Gulf waters and shifting patterns increasing storm risk.

It only takes one storm to do serious damage to a state along the coast, which is something Louisiana is all-too-familiar with.

A week and a half before the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is currently monitoring two disturbances, one of which is already in the Gulf of Mexico.

There have already been five named storms so far this season. We've not seen five named storms this early in the hurricane season since 2005.
