Super Moon

Our friend Luna will look 16 percent brighter and 7 percent bigger compared to a normal full moon due to a closer proximity than we are used to.

Super Moon 2012, which occurred Saturday night, was not a sight to be missed, even if you were too busy drinking your Cinco de Mayo margaritas. This natural phenomenon is the one time a year when the moon is closer to the earth than ever, making it appear 30 percent brighter and 14 percent bigger. It also makes us stare off into space and go, “Whoah!?”

Jim Berkland has a track record of predicting earthquakes like the 1989 Loma Prieta shaker in San Francisco for the World Series. Now, according to Berkland, we’re due for another one. Berkland predicted, based on several factors, an earthquake will strike the West Coast sometime between March 19 and the 26th.
