Northwest Louisiana Red Cross chapter

It is springtime here and we are also in tornado season for the central part of the United States.  We have seen major destruction so far in Oklahoma and Texas from tornadoes.  Are you prepared for a natural disaster?

As Hurricane Irene heads for the east coast, a couple of local residents are heading there, too.

Three volunteers from the Northwest Louisiana chapter of the American Red Cross left this morning, headed for Rayne, Louisiana. They'll be staging from there into areas that were destroyed or affected by this weekend's tornado.
