Information keeps pouring out regarding the Wednesday-night shooting deaths at the Fort Hood Army base in Killeen, Texas. Here's a recap of what we've learned:

FORT HOOD, TEXAS (AP) _ A Fort Hood official says the shooter in Wednesday afternoon's attack at the central Texas army post was a soldier being assessed for whether he had PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Four people, including the gunman, were killed and 16 others injured in a shooting at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas Wednesday evening.  Fort Hood officials said the gunman was a soldier who had been receiving mental health treatment and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Only a small number of U.S. combat soldiers remain in Irag.  Most of them have now arrived back home in time for Christmas.  About 200 soldiers returned to Fort Hood in Texas over the holiday weekend.  They were greeted by cheers, tears and lots of hugs ...
