A former staff member at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for mail fraud.

Former Monroe City Councilman Robert E. "Red" Stevens has pled guilty to accepting cash bribe payments from an FBI cooperating witness in exchange for help with matters pending before the council.

United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced that Brandon R. Willis, 26, of Pineville, La., a former corrections officer at the U. S. Penitentiary, Pollock, La., pled guilty today to attempted introduction of contraband into prison.
