The woman accused of abducting an 8-year-old boy in Ruston has been arrested, according to Louisiana State Police.

Louisiana State Police have issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Ruston Police Department for an 8-year-old boy who's believed to have been abducted earlier this morning.

The AMBER Alert website was taken off line from Friday, October 4 until 10 a.m. Monday due to the Government Shutdown. According to New York Daily News, the Justice Department put the site back online because of complaints suggesting that the shutdown had forced closure of notification system.

Two young children are missing after their biological, but non-custodial, parents abducted them from their custodial grandmother in Tampa, Florida, around 6:30 this morning. And Louisiana State Police say they may be headed this way.
