Shreveport Police detectives are looking for a Natchitoches Parish man accused of severely beating a woman earlier this month.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on July 10, 2011, an adult female victim flagged down a Shreveport Police patrol officer reporting she had been battered by a known male suspect.  The victim advised she was traveling home from a nightclub when the suspect, identified as 34 year old Calvin Ray Moss, started following her vehicle.

Near the intersection of Elon Street and San Jacinto Street, Moss allegedly pulled his vehicle in front of hers forcing her to stop.  At that point he exited his truck, broke out her driver’s side window and struck her in the face with some kind of metal object causing a serious laceration above her right eye.  Moss then allegedly beat her with his fists as well before fleeing the scene of the crime.

Detectives began their investigation and learned the victim and Moss apparently had a brief relationship some time ago but the victim had ended it.  Based on information gathered during their inquiry, investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Calvin R. Moss with one count of second degree battery.  His bond is set at $150,000.

Moss has addresses in Bossier City as well as Natchitoches and detectives are asking anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts to contact them at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
