Suspect Wanted in Shreveport Downtown Shooting- UPDATE
UPDATE - The suspect, Brandon Batiste, has been taken into custody.
ORIGINAL STORY - On July 15th, 2023, at 2:29 a.m. Shreveport Police Officers were called to respond to a shooting in the 400 block of Commerce Street. Arriving officers located multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. The Shreveport Fire Department responded and transported five victims to local area hospitals where four are in stable condition and one victim was pronounced deceased.
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene to collect evidence. Preliminary investigations found that the suspect approached a group of individuals walking on the sidewalk. The suspect shot into the group and multiple persons were hit.
Detectives with the Shreveport Police Homicide Unit worked tirelessly throughout the weekend and obtained a warrant for Brandon Batiste (12-28-93) for one count of 2nd-degree murder.

Shreveport Police reported on Monday that Batiste has been arrested, and is currently in custody.
