
How You Can Help Families Impacted in the Shreveport Mass Shooting
Shreveport is reeling from the loss of 8 children in a tragic shooting on Sunday morning. These children range in age from 3 to 11. Most of them are elementary school students at Summer Grove. Others attend Linwood Charter School.
The mother of some of these children was shot and another woman is fighting for her life.

Governor Jeff Landry has announced his wife's organization Love One Louisiana Foundation will be paying for the funerals of all eight children killed in Sunday morning’s mass shooting. In making the announcement in Shreveport, Governor Landry said he hopes the gesture will bring some comfort during a very trying time.
The First Lady’s foundation also got involved after the terror attack on Bourbon Street last year. Governor Landry says he’s thinking of everyone impacted by Sunday's tragedy, especially the two women who remain in critical condition after being during the rampage carried out by the father of seven of the eight children.
If you are looking for other ways to help, you can also make a donation to the Community Foundation of North Louisiana. They have set up two funds to help the families. has set up two funds. CEO Kristi Gustavson says one fund is called the April 19 Survivors Fund to help the survivors of this tragedy. The other is the April 19 Memorial Fund to prevent domestic violence.
