Strain to Head Trade Group
Louisiana Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain has been elected president of the Southern United States Trade Association...or "SUSTA," as it's commonly called. SUSTA is a non-profit agricultural export trade development association. It's made up of the agriculture departments of fifteen southern states and Puerto Rico. It works with individual state agricultural agencies to provide resources that will help small businesses with international trade. Strain says he plans to use his new position to vigorously promote Louisiana and the other southern states' agricultural outputs.
